1.) What caused the toxic waste to begin being pushed to the surface?
2.) What are some of the health hazards associated with the chemicals dumped there?
3.) Besides humans how are other parts of the ecosystem affected by this?

1) The toxic waste began to push up to the surface in 1977 after it had rained and snowed a lot. The water started to get soaked up by the ground which made the underground area very wet, which caused all the toxins to ooze up the the surface of the earth in a very think blackish substance.
2) There are many health hazards, like there were over 400 LETHAL chemicals found in the air water and land around Love Canal, which includes deadly dioxin and lead.
3) The animals in the area were effected, too. After a very wet year the toxins started flowing into some creeks near by, and some animals drank the toxins or sawm in them. Some parts of the toxic wasted turned into gas and went into the air and never left, so people living in Niagara Falls, New York still can be effected by these chemicals.
